Of hangout, a strange welcome and religion

So am here again. Don't fret; am not gonna write emotional sad stuff this time; even I need a break from it (possibly a long one). Yesterday I had a great time hanging out with my friends and it was after a long three months. We were all so busy in our own world (college, relatives, exams and bla bla bla). For me it was college. Recently I was so overburdened and  was neck deep in assignments and test series. Also, I got students to teach. So finally, yesterday came the time when I all wound up and released myself for a while.

my school time friend, who now lives in a hostel in Pune, had come down here for one day, and we made the most of it. she looked so changed, much frank and open to outlandish things, which she shunned before. ow, nice! with no idea where to head next,we decided on visiting our beloved friend, who is forbidden to step out of her house(all thanks to her community)except for college. honestly,it was the scariest meet ever. we were welcomed with you-are-not-so-welcomed eyes of her sister-in-law,that too after giving proof that we are her friends. we were seated in the hall(wide open with holy books piled up in the corner of a showcase, dining table with packets of snacks scattered over(did she know we were coming?) or they are used to guests(wanted, unwanted)?). we were not even asked water!that's forgiven as we didn't feel bad . strange, yes.there was eerie quietness,so we kept our voice as low as possible as we thought they won't like it. we were told she was sleeping and waited with patience to see our friend after 2 years. half an hour swept by and fear started to creep in,as was suspicion. no one takes half an hour to receive their guests, and if those are friends. the sweet and scary kid told us she's in the bathroom, when inquired again. we were like what's going on? we were just going to leave because we felt it abnormal, but decided against it. we wanted to confirm if she was okay.
after five minutes, there she was!we were literally checking her up and down(for scars!). she was absolutely fine and dressed up in a long skirt and t-shirt beneath(all covered up.yup, her community)
I tell you it was so relieving to see her. later, she served us with sweets, snacks(the packets kept on the dining table. i was right about them),pastries, sandwiches.man!there were so lots of them. again strange. why being formal with friends? i never do that and no one does that for that matter. it's like serving someone unknown. later came coffee. we had to force her to sit with us and chat because the moment she saw things out of place, she rushed to put it orderly. don't know why she was behaving that way;she could have done it afterwards. we left after half an hour.(with over filled tummies!)
The rest time,we loitered around, had panipuri and wandered in SBI colony(my hostel friends colony). i love it there. well,we just kept talking about reserved communities, people and comparing how lucky we are to be born in our religion and family.
i hope my friend gets her share of freedom too. religion is for man,not man for religion. why don't people get that?! and they call themselves 21st-century people. bullshit!

Am not a poetess but tried my hand at it for the first time  and the outcome is below-a poem dedicated to those who penetrate into my life without my wish .I would want them to mind their own business and stop poking their nose into my matters. AND in case they come across this post ,a message for them- try somewhere else, for I am the master of my own life and will always remain being so!                                                                     ...

Bura na mano -HOLI HAI!!

Yeahhhhhhh!!!!  i just got a call from my friend. A holi party has been organized at her society with DJ'S, BHANG, THANDAAI!! So excited! Mine society is strictly boring and dull. Apart from republic day no other festival is celebrated. That too alternate years. No surprise ,we hardly bond with people here. I vividly remember one such holi when we as kids were thrown out of the society premises  just for breaking it's pathetic rules. Our mistake- we splattered water in front of somebody's door ,and that 'khadoos' got us out of the society. Heights! I have always hated living here, only for its unneeded strictness. "Bura na mano holi hai " never worked with people here. They need a chance to feel 'Bura' on everything.                              It's been years now i have played holi.   Though day after tomorrow...

Effects of projects, asignments and tormenting teachers!

Tangled, dry, crinkly, irritating - am suffering from "bad hair" this week...  all credits to my busy schedule that had me running and   I   couldn't spare a minute to pamper my hair.    I   have just washed my hair and  its pitiful seeing them in this horrible state.           My clothes have gone loose on me.   I   have lost few kilos climbing up and down the stairs at the college. Being one of the reputed   colleges   in the area and having 6 elevators, refusing to use even one is ridiculous and unexpected.  " I am 60 and climb steps easily. You are still young" is a lame reason my principle has when requested for using   the elevator. Hopeless situation!   The suggestion box hung   outside on   his office wall now reads to me ' just another showpiece'.             Okay sir, i...
